We need to have a clear understanding of several ways of releasing goods in international maritime logistics. On the one hand, we can ensure the safety of goods, and on the other hand, we can timely deliver goods to customers in different ways. The following describes the common ways and differences of international shipping:

1. TELEX RELEASED:

Definition: Short for telegraphic release. The information of the bill of lading shall be sent to the shipping company at the destination port in the form of electronic message or electronic information, and the consignee may change the bill of lading and take delivery of the goods by the telex release copy and telex release guarantee affixed with telex release seal. The shipping company notifies the agent at the port of destination to release the goods without the need for the original bill of lading, as long as it proves that it is the consignee and telex released, it can take delivery of the goods.

Advantages: CONVENIENT, fast, safe (avoid the risk of losing the bill of lading).

2.OCEAN BILL(B/L)

Definition: original bill of lading issued by shipping company. It is a kind of real right certificate, the consignee draws the goods according to it, it can be endorsed transfer, is an important document; The SHIPPER will get the original bill of lading from the forwarder, scan it to CNEE, and arrange payment. The SHIPPER will send the whole set of bill of lading to CNEE by express mail, and CNEE will pick up the goods by replacing the bill of lading with the original bill of lading. Ocean bills of lading are used more often.

Advantages: it is convenient for buyers to take delivery of goods immediately, simplify procedures, save costs.

3.SWB(Sea Waybill) :

Definition: Short for SEA WAYBILL, it is a form of bill of lading. Once SWB is issued, the right of goods will be transferred from SHIPPER to CNEE, that is to say, CNEE can directly pick up the goods. SWB does not need the original or telex release fee for picking up the goods. This form of release can be adopted for trusted companies.

Advantage: It lies in the single fast, fast delivery, convenient, fast.

Disadvantages: There is generally no way to control the goods.

Application scenarios:

1. The shipping waybill can be sent out after receiving all the payment for goods.

2. A subsidiary of a multinational company in China is specifically responsible for purchasing a shipping bill for the parent company abroad.

3. Release documents at destination port:

Definition: The meaning of releasing goods. This way of release is rarely used, in the following special circumstances, will be used in this way: the bill of lading lost, by the shipper to write a letter of guarantee to the shipping company or agent release the bill to the consignee; The bill of lading is issued late, but the goods arrive, in order to pick up the goods earlier, you can also take the letter of guarantee instructions to release the goods.

Application scenario: This method is generally not used in the absence of special circumstances.

The difference between several ways of releasing goods by international sea transportation

Once the SEA WAY BILL is confirmed, the agent will release the goods directly to the consignee after the goods arrive at the port.

And telex release, even if the goods arrive at the port for N long, as long as the consignor did not notify the agent in written form to release the goods, the agent will not release the goods to the consignee.

The main difference between SWB and B/L is that SWB does not have the function of real title. Bill of lading is a kind of real title, which can be transferred by endorsement (indicative bill of lading). Sea waybill cannot be transferred, and the consignee of sea waybill can only be the consignee indicated on the sea waybill.
